How Can I Make My High Heels More Comfortable?

Fashions in long shoes change fast and women want to wear the latest designs. Tall shoes make women look taller, slimmer and more alluring. But the price a woman has to pay to wear long heels can be pretty high. It’s not the cost of the long heels, but the damage they can do to the feet that needs to be avoided. When wearing tall shoes the pressure is on the toes and the balls of the feet. If pointed long shoes are in fashion there is very little you can do to avoid getting a pair.

Well before you can make your heels more comfortable, make sure you buy the right long shoes. Be sensible when shopping for long shoes. First, make sure to get your feet measured when you go to shop for tall heels. This may sound dumb, but feet do grow larger with age and during pregnancy. Try and buy a pair that has round toes.

Avoid buying pointed toes long heels if you can. If you have feet that are wide then ask for a wider pair. Try on the long shoes, walk around in them. If they are comfortable then buy them, else shop around. Don’t buy long shoes that have hard leather, try and get a pair with soft leather. Don’t go for tall boots that are too tall. Don’t wear tall boots for an extended period of time. If you plan on wearing tall boots daily then your feet are going to get ravaged. Even wearing long shoes for a dance party can damage your feet.

You can make your tall heels more comfortable by following a few tips. If you have got a pair with pointed toes then place some cotton in the toes of the tall shoes to protect your toes. Place arch supports in the tall shoes. If you feel that your feet are getting cramped from the sides place some cushioning on the sides. Now that you have your long heels ready now you have to prepare your feet also.

Remember extended wear of long shoes can cause blisters, calluses and corns on your feet. You definitely don’t want to be seen limping in your long heels. So take some band aid or moleskin squares and place them on your feet. Wrap them around your toes, the sides of your feet and most importantly on your shoes. It’s the toes, the shoes and the balls of the feet that get damaged wearing long shoes. So protecting these areas is going to save your feet from getting damaged.

Also apply a cream or lotion on the feet to make them soft and supple. At times it even makes sense to rub some oil on the inner surface of the long shoes to make the leather soft. But you only do this when you are not using the long heels. If you follow these simple tips then you can protect your feet from getting damaged by wearing tall shoes.

Hopefully by following this advice you will be able to wear long shoes without ravaging your feet.
